I’m 17, tomorrow I have my first job interview at Kohl’s and they told me to dress business casual. I have no button up shirts or slacks, I don’t know what business casual is but I can assure you I don’t own anything business casual…

What do I wear then? What would be appropriate to wear at a job interview if I don’t own button up shirts, slacks, dresses, or suits, and can’t buy any of these things?

We’re having a historical theme wedding in Fairfax County, VA and having an officiant in a modern business suit would be jarring. Also, I’m not even gonna bother trying to find someone who already has the right historical costume.

The idea is vestments change much more slowly than regular clothing styles. In that way, wearing the modern version is also being dressed in a historical costume.

He was wearing a business suit and wore a insignia of a full bird colonel(pin with eagle) on his chest(left) how do I know if he is or not? How old do you have to be to be a FBC?

Suit = Blazer, blouse, skirt/trouser, stockings & heels.

We recently took over a business where none of the employees had any contracts. We issued new contracts which does say from time to time peoples hours will change to suit the business and they will be required to be flexible. We took all staff on and retained the rota’d hours.

After a period of time we assessed the job roles, when and where people were working, trading patterns and due to financial constraints where we can become more efficient.

I have tried to discuss with 1 person (cleaner) the need to change their hours from a midweek morning to a sunday morning but with only negative response. After trying to discuss this a few times and getting no joy I informed the individual that due to the needs of the business we would probably not be needing them in on tuesday morning as trade doesn’t justify the need but would require them in on a sunday. I did not discuss timescales but it would not have been immediately probably a few weeks notice which I would have discussed.

This individual said they would not work a sunday (and not for religious reasons but hasn’t given one) and has since handed their notice in saying they just not working sundays full stop!.

I have explained to them we don’t want them to leave but need to change things to suit the business. The business is a pub/restaurant with no cleaners in on a sunday morning following the busiest trading day. On the flip side there is no need for a cleaner in on a tuesday.

We have altered other peoples hours with no problems.

Am I being fair and reasonable as worried this person could claim constructive dismissal?

My man just got himself a new job. He has always hated the business casual dress code. He wants instead to wear a suit a suit and tie. Is it a bad idea for him to dress that formally when nobody else does.

I am a recent college graduate and I want to buy a tailored suit to wear to job interviews. I am broke, so I’m looking to spend as little as possible.

What style? (or brand)
What color? (maybe something that goes with a variety of collared shirts)
How much money will I likely have to spend?

I admittedly know nothing about purchasing or wearing a suit.

i mean no shirt, no blouse, no bra,…nothing..the jacket is closed…but u can still see something inside…and she has a super short blond haircut..she is a lady in her 40s and is not smiling..when u look at her..she looks at u very strictly…if u lower your eyes..she lowers hers..if u look at her again…she again looks at u very aggressively…what does she mean…what does she want?

I have a few pairs of dress pants. Some are a set with a suit, others are plain slacks. All of my slacks have belt loops and my Dad thinks that it looks unprofessional to wear pants with belt loops without a belt in them. My pants are all perfectly tailored to fit my waist, and I haven’t really seen any younger females wearing belts around town.

Should I: A) Buy a belt, B) Remove the loops from the pants with a seem ripper, or C) Continue wearing the pants belt-less?
