I have business and i recently took over to work with a customer that another company was working with, recently i started to work with another new customer and my company didnt know it was onother customer that the previous company was working with and the company got upset and called our first customer and second customer and talk bad about us, can I suit this company that is talking bad about us?

    In the US, slander is against the law but hard to prove. Did they state actual lies to the customers, or did they only give opinions? Big difference in the eyes of the law.

    Many companies resort to these tactics when they are watching their business leave. Most people are smart enough to know that a company willing to badmouth their competition is not the type of company you want to do business with.

    Have you lost actual business because of lies? If yes, you may have a case, if no, what damages would you be trying to recover?

    It’s possible to sue someone for spreading false information that damages your business. You will have to show the court quantifiable damages. Suzy
