Of note:
I’m concerned with finding a quality piece, not looking to find the cheapest sportcoat possible. interested in finding a mid-to-hi-range priced jacket from a quality suit/sportcoat maker.

I measure right between 44r and 44l but even most 48s are cut in away that I could rip the back clean off with one good flex. To get to were I can actually just cross my arms I am swimming beyond were they could take it in. Should I just give up and get a tailor-made suit? How much do they run? I were a 17 35/36 fitted dress shirt, 36 waist, 206 pounds. I really want it chiseled in to accent my good shape.

I need to find a nice business suit for interviewing (I’m looking for a grade school teaching job). I know some jobs will be in the cool months- but I might also have to find a summer suit as well.

I’m a larger woman size 18/20. And the suits either look like I’m wearing a maternity outfit or a tent. I’m also a older candidate and don’t want to look like a grandmother.

I am willing to look at all fashions- though being a single mom (with two in college) I can’t afford a whole lot. I just don’t want to LOOK cheap.

My husband and I are going to a ’ships ball’ (naval ball in other words), and I wanted him to wear his grey suit with a cream coloured shirt, not sure what colour tie yet, to go with my cream coloured dress. He has sent me an email with the dress code. This event is to be held in a casino, if that helps. Here is the exact phrasing:
Remember dress is black tie/formal therefore ladies are strongly encouraged to dress up to the hilt (cocktail dresses are suitable) and gents are to wear a tuxedo or dark suit with tie.
I can’t find anything on the internet which actually says whether grey is considered dark or not. It is a mid grey I suppose you would say, not a charcoal or dark grey.
Oh also it isn’t pin striped. I am aware pinstripes are for business suits only, that is about as far as my suit knowledge extends
As an edit, I would also like to know if anyone thinks it is even that big a deal if he wears grey. Its only a bunch of sailors, who will most likely all be off their faces 2 hours into the event anyway! Hahaha!
