What should I think about first? What kind of jobs could I expect with 1 year, 2 year, 4 year and even higher education? What kind of skills and personality suit these jobs and how good at math do you need to be? Do you use a lot of advanced maths or just basic like with accounting for example

What accounting/business position suits these traits?

kellen s asked:

I am finishing my bachelors degree in April, and I am trying to find what exactly it is I would like to do as a career. I have been working in an entry level accounting position in a monitoring role for 3 years, but I am not sure trying to go up the corporate ladder is the right choice for me. I believe either starting some sort of consulting or working for a small business would suit me better.

At my current position, I well exceed expectations. I am an effective learner, making me “The Expert” at what I do. I have strong analytical abilities, and good written communication skills.

My oral communication skills depend on the situation. Face to face I am effective, but over the phone isn’t as great. As bad as it sounds, I would prefer to email over talk on the phone (there’s no backspace when talking over the phone ;) ).

Overall, I think I would need a more technical position over managerial (I have some management experience, but I prefer to do it myself rather than rely on people below me).

I am trying to look at “big picture” positions, something I would look at attaining over 10 years, with a professional designation, or Masters, or other post-degree requirements that may be required. Does anyone have any thoughts on career paths that might suit me??

naima asked:

I have a second stage interview with a company that sells insurance tomorrow. They want me to maintain Delegated authority and Terms of Business Agreements but I only have a vague idea of what these things are as I have just recently finished my law degree.

Who is a Terms of Business Agreement between? What kind of questions can I expect from a second interview and is it alright to wear grey trousers and a white shirt to a second interview as I wore my black suit to the first interview. Any advice would be really appreciated. Thanks

I’m a female, about to graduate college with my business degree, and I would like some tips about how to interview…anything would help!

1. What color suit do you think is most appropriate? Black, gray, beige, etc.

2. Do I need to have a briefcase, or would a nice folder be fine?

Any other tips??

Thanks!!! I will definitely choose a best answer.

Alternate business attire?

Lawyer Dude asked:

Okay it’s hot as h*ll in New York City right now and I’d love to find something else to wear than a business suit to client meetings.

The problem is I’m an attorney, and given the nature of both my profession and my clientele, the navy blue pinstripe suit tends to be the attire of choice.

Does anybody have suggestions for an alternate wardrobe choice? Let’s assume for the sake of the argument that “khakis and a polo shirt business casual” is not in the offing.

I’m especially interested in hearing from other New York City-based professionals.
