We’re having a historical theme wedding in Fairfax County, VA and having an officiant in a modern business suit would be jarring. Also, I’m not even gonna bother trying to find someone who already has the right historical costume.

The idea is vestments change much more slowly than regular clothing styles. In that way, wearing the modern version is also being dressed in a historical costume.

My girlfriend wants me to go to her cousin’s wedding, but I never been to a Vietnamese wedding before! I know the females wear the traditional dresses during the actual wedding. But what do males wear? And post reception? Should I go with black slacks, dress shirt and tie? Or do I need to wear like a business suit? Help! Thanks!

i have been for my suit sizing for my upcoming wedding…and have gone for a short tailored jacket in black with black pinstripe trousers…ivory waistcoat and a ruche tie….my wife to be says that a tailed jacket would be better…what do you think
