Meaning usually, one color, jacket and trousers match or at the very least, coordinate well. A suit would always be same color top and bottom. hirebookkeeper

try one of those orange prison jump suits. PDnAZ

Black dress pants, white or colored button down shirt, black cardigan sweater, black dress shoes. Think matchy-matchy…your clothes shouldn’t be the focus of attention. Is there any way you can catch a peek at what the other employees wear?

Whoa, hm. I would ask the boss. I don’t think it’s a bad or naive question – you are trying to understand the corporate culture, and you want to be respectful. It’s a very good question.

And you don’t want to misinterpret, and go out and buy a ton of new stuff that you don’t love, only to find out that your closet full of “you” was perfectly appropriate, with just the addition of a jacket, or nicer shoes.

It sounds like this is a firm that dresses “up,” probably a lot of high income client contact or visibility. So clarification direct from the company will help you a lot! Elizabeth99

In one word, Conservative. Buy things that will present you as very business like . This means blue , grey, black or brown. No low cut or revealing clothes , black or brown shoes, no thongs or peep toes. and moderate make up and jewelry. Ex; watch, wedding ring and simple small earrings. Mary N
