I have 5. Also remember to buy suits that you can mix and match. Pant suits and skirts with the basic power colors such as navy blue, grey, black. You will never go wrong with this if you throw a suit jacket over a nice top and some nice pumps you can work in. always conservative, of course. Good luck with your new job!
You could manage with 3. Just make sure one is black. Then choose neutral colors- grey, navy blue, chocolate. You’ll mix and match your tops and bottoms. Pick up 2 skirts and 5-6 tops and you can vary your clothes into numerous outfits. Also, a scarf or a belt had vary your outfit for a fraction of the price.
I have enough pieces to make about 8 different outfits. A big difference in the amount you will need depends on whether or not you have casual Fridays. We do, so I only have to worry about having 4 outfits at the beginning of each week. Though casual friday doesn’t necessarily mean you can wear whatever you have that’s clean and I had to buy some clothes specifically for that (because my version of casual= tank tops and flip flops…but I would never go to work wearing that).
