I’m going to be in Kentucky on business for a while and I’d like to take advantage of the lower cost of living there. How much would a nice (possibly bespoke) suit cost in Kentucky? Either Louisville or Lexington. Would it be cheaper than in larger metropolitan areas? Heck, I’d consider even an Armani suit if the price is right.

I would first contact Men’s Warehouse and even try stores such as AJ Wright, TJ Maxx and similar stores. Thrift stores are good as well (Goodwill, Salvation Army, etc.), if you are looking for a reasonable price. What to do?

Well, the black label Giorgio Armani suits start at $4000 USD, and include alterations to the waist and back in that price, with other alterations optional. Im not sure if they even have a boutique in Louisville or Lexington. If you’re serious about dropping that sort of cash just get it tailored – I was about to spend $3000 on a Dior Homme suit a few years ago but decided to get a suit tailored instead. My tailor was hardly the best in the world but im proud to say its the best fitting suit I have and was a few hundred less than the dior. You can choose the same fabrics that designers use for less and you’ll be guaranteed to have a perfect fit – you wont go back after getting it tailored. Kentucky is your best bet for a good tailor and wider range of designers – have you thought of Zegna? They are cheaper than Armani and have as good a reputation for classic style, and have a famous italian heritage. Ladys Man
