I’m a 22 year old male. I was looking into business casual, but most websites say that BC is not appropriate for interviews.

Business casual is fine for an interview if a suit would be too formal. Personally, unless you are interviewing for a minimum wage job, a suit may not be as formal as you would think. I would rather be overdressed than underdressed. FaZizzle

keep the slacks, the long sleeve shirt, and and a tie. keep the suit jacket if its cold, but make sure it’s casual, not stylish or scene-y, and definitely not “formal”. r2k216

Depending on where the interview is, slacks, a blazer, button down shirt and tie would be a step down from a suit. Remember, you want to dress a step better than what will be required of you at your job.

    Good luck to you! Leaf

Suits are standard. If that’s too much, use nice slacks and the standard collared long sleeve button down w/ tie. Use darker colors, communicates power. I’m 22 as well, got a professional position back in July, and this worked for me. Ryan

Why would a suit be too formal for an interview?

If you don’t want to wear a full suit, just loose the jacket. By the way, there is nothing too formal about a suit, it shows respect for the interviewer and the company that you would not offend them by wearing street clothes when first meeting them.

Remember, if you are wearing them, to remove your sunglasses when talking to people. Danster
