Is a belt always necessary in business professional dress for women?

I have a few pairs of dress pants. Some are a set with a suit, others are plain slacks. All of my slacks have belt loops and my Dad thinks that it looks unprofessional to wear pants with belt loops without a belt in them. My pants are all perfectly tailored to fit my waist, and I haven’t really seen any younger females wearing belts around town.

Should I: A) Buy a belt, B) Remove the loops from the pants with a seem ripper, or C) Continue wearing the pants belt-less?

    If you remove the loops I think your pants would look odd. I’d say get a belt–it looks the most polished. I wear my pants with a nice black belt. Look at the link below for more hints on how to wear you suit. melissa w
