Of course you can wear a suit and tie, it has nothing to do with job or qualifications. You’ll see alot of business men and / or bankers wearing these suits as that’s what they have to wear to be presentable in their everyday business life. I don’t see what would stop you? Go out and rock! IceTwinkle

i thought you wore overalls to do welding, no point in messing up a nice suit O

Sure, you can go around in a suit and tie if you want to! I think it looks classy. I wouldn’t wear it while you’re welding, but you could wear it when you’re going out. starfish

That’s always possible, what job are you going after that you need to wear a suit? I’m a retired stagehand and I know they use welders in building shows. Stagehand local has been good to me and live quite comfortable with the pension. Depending on what State your in you could check in with the IATSE Local . I worked out od of Vegas, If your good you could even end up in a studio in Hollywood. Worth looking at. Beats working for a living. Tag23

If you want to be a suit, get yourself in college. Meanwhile, don’t knock welding. It is a fine profession. have you considered doing under water welding? I know someone who does that and makes nice money. he wears a suit… a wet suit. Zoe

Why leave the trade? I made $50,000+ last year and only worked 9 months. Welding pays good money.

Math is a very important aspect of welding, especially when you do your own fitting. In addition, you should never stop learning just because you’re no longer in school. I try keep my brain in shape by reading a lot.

Of course, if you really aren’t interested in the nitty gritty work involved in welding you ought to go back to school and figure out what you really want to do; you’re young, it’s still possible. Big Bad Wolfy

Of course you can, but although it looks smart it isn’t really the right dress for welding. You would end up with a lot of extra cleaning bills, and your suits won’t last very long.

Have you tried enrolling on a management course? za

Don`t fall into the trap that people in suits are somehow better than you!

You have done well with your GCSE exams and gaining experience in welding, a job you like doing I presume.

You seem to be a hands-on person, rather than an office worker, and I would suggest you keep to that type of work.

Many find that some school subjects are not for them! spacemanpandora
