My wife and I are going to a wedding in Poland. What should we wear?
My cousin (from Ireland) is marrying a Polish girl. We’re going to the wedding next month (August 07) but are unsure what to wear. We don’t want to be under or over-dressed. I was going to wear a business suit and my wife is trying to pick her outfit at the moment. Any help on what to wear at contemporary Polish weddings would be appreciated (bride and groom are both in their late 20s so there will be a mixed-age crowd there).
Also, if you have any tips on Polish wedding traditions that we should observe these would be welcome.
No facetious or racist answers, please.

Well, personally I would wear what I would normally to a wedding, but I suppose that’s just me.
The best thing is to simply ask the bride and groom themselves. That way you can be sure that you are dressed appropriately and I’m sure they will appreciate your consideration.
Have fun! checkthis07
Clothes!!! I couldn’t help it! What would the bride and groom wear? Ask them for the answer. It’s their wedding. ZinaRae
I recently went to Poland and was surprised to find nice prom dresses at cheap prices. I don’t know if her family is rich or poor, but if she’s from a fairly rich family, I don’t think your wife would be over-dressed in a prom dress. Maybe she shouldn’t go for the fanciest and most expensive one, though. Joan79
Check with the bride or her mother, sorry can’t help more. I say the bride as it is her day traditionally more than the groom.
(If your cousin is wearing his tartan – check with him, and wear yours?)
Hope you all have a great visit/occasion! Moderation in all things

My mother is from Poland and I asked her and she said that you could wear the same thing as you would wear in your own country. Just like going to a garden party in the summer! chrys_folly
