i am a bit confused about the dress code. lets say i work in marketing/sales department. do i have to wear suit all the time? can i not wear the jacket? just the shirt, tie, and slacks. what do they call that? i read articles online, they have informal (all suited up), and business (without jacket and tie) what about with tie, but no jacket?

Is it too much to wear a suit to these interviews?

My husband graduated with his BS in Mechanical Engineering this past June. Man, it’s been rough out there! He’s been on 4 interviews, even goes back for second and possibly third interviews, but not yet chosen. He wears a nice suit to these interviews, gets a hair cut … I think it’s doing too much for a design job. He says that typically the attire at the business when he goes for his interview is casual. Is the suit killing it a bit?

I have two business suits, a black one and a navy blue one, and need your help deciding which one to wear. I think I look better in the black one, but I’ve read that black suits have more a funeral feel than a business feel. Is that true?

I know it is a HUGE turn on for many women to see a man in a business suit or in any formal attire.

Is it like that for men with women? Of course not if she was in a business suit, but say a nice dress and heels.

I have started my event planning business about a month ago, so understandably I haven’t gotten any clients as of yet. I’m going to a networking conference for women in business on Saturday, where there will be 400 or so small business owners. They will have keynote speakers, brunch, breakout sessions, and then we will have time at the later half of the event to “network” with each other.

I’m so nervous! I don’t know what to bring, what to say… I need tips! I want to present myself in the best way possible, to maximize the rewards of going to this event. However, I don’t have a lot of stories to talk about within my portfolio (other than the personal or job-related events that I’ve done that got me to this point). How do I answer the tough questions? Do I act like someone who’s just starting out, or do I try to sound like I’m established? What’s the etiquette for these types of events? What to say, do, what not to say or do…

Also, I don’t know what I should bring. I know I should bring business cards for sure, but with that many people, is it wise to bring a brochure as well? Would that be overkill with the stacks of brochures everyone will probably be handing each other? I will do it if I should. I just need some advice. I’ve never done this before so please bear with me because I’m new to this, clueless and need all the help I can get. And how should I dress? Business suit? Business casual? Wear a company t-shirt? LOL

Thanks in advance…. and if anyone knows of any websites that provide tips on these sort of things, please share. Yahoo and Google is not helping me right now. LOL

Here’s a strange adult that hides his identity and wants to play with your kids. If you were driving home late at night and someone one was standing on the roof of your house in A.) a fireman’s outfit, B.) a business suit C.) a clown costume, the clown is the only one that would make you keep driving and never return again. Why did people in our grandparents generation think clowns were such a good thing?

I am a female. I have an internship interview at a marketing office tomorrow and am considering two outfits. The first is a very traditional gray suit that I hate because I feel stuffy in it and too serious. The other is a very smart casual business dress outfit (pants, top and jacket).

Is it okay to dress business casual for an internship interview?
