Does “professional” have to be the business suit or can it be more casual with the blouse and dressy black pants and shoes?

Background: This is my first real professional interview. I’m flying out to California on Monday to interview for a job at a small software company. I already have a pantsuit, but I need advice on what type of shoes and shirt I should wear with it. I’m afraid that I’ll look too mannish (I tried my one white blouse with it, and it looked terrible), but this is my only suit, and I don’t want to buy one with a skirt. I’ve heard that women should wear suits with skirts, but is it acceptable to wear one with pants? I don’t really have a good pair of pumps, and after trying on about eight million today, I remain convinced that they are impossible to find. I have a pair of ankle boots that might work, but I’m concerned they might look bad when I cross my legs (you can see the boot). Does anyone have any advice?

TL;DR: Is it okay to wear a suit with pants instead of a skirt (looking more for reassurance here because I’m more comfortable in this and don’t want to have to buy something different)? What kind of shirt should I wear to look more feminine, and what kind of shoes should I wear?

I was thinking some nice pair of slacks and blouse or should I wear a business suit

Perhaps a smart business suit and a crisp blouse? I am overwhelmed with self importance.

Hey guys, I got a job with a banking company that I’m really excited about and I have the interview coming up. So what would be appropriate to wear to the interview? A business suit (like skirt/dress pants, jacket, blouse?) Where could I find something nice but not too expensive, but also preferably nice enough to continue to wear to possible future interviews?

I’m female, 26 and going to an interview soon. I was informed that the dress would be ‘business casual’, but I have no idea what that means for a woman! Slacks and a blouse? Business suit? Skirt or slacks… ARGH! Women’s clothes are stupid…

I am a girl, 16, and I need to buy the follwing items:
- A blazer/Business suit
- Dress blouse
- Dress skirt/ Dress slacks
- Dress Shoes
Or, a business dress with stockings

I was wondering if someone could provide me with a list of not too costly (I’m obviously not going to wear these regularly) place where I could buy these things from.
