Anyone good at choosing suit? How does this suit look on me?

I don’t exist asked:

Question 1: Shoulder pad. This is the first time I buy a suit and it’s for work, and I didn’t expect to find a shoulder pad! There are shoulder pads on this suit, is it good or bad? Didn’t Armani make all those shoulder pads disapear 20 years ago? I remember my mom use a shoulder pad when I was little. Kinda 80s or early 90s, what do you think? Did I miss anything?

Question 2: it is double vented, which as the picture shows make my butt look very obvious, I am not shameful to admit I have a big butt, that is my body build. Can I sew the vents together to make a ventless suit at a tailor? Do you think the finished product will look weird?

Question 3: Do you think the suit is too long?

Question 4: Do you think it’s formal enough for a business suit? It said “blazer” inside.

It is made by Ben Sherman and it costs $400. Don’t ask me to try other suits, I am asking questions regarding this one. And the shirt is one I picked ramdomly off the rack to get a feel about the suit, it’s a XXL which is not my size so that explains why the shirt doesn’t look right.

Thanks. Any questions do ask.

sealoquesea asked:

I have been shopping with my boyfriend because he needs to purchase a suit. We are graduating from college soon and he will be interviewing etc. and is a business major. Here is the dilemma: He has very long arms, but a not-so-long torso, which makes the long suits (the size he needs for the arm to be long enough) look odd because they body section of the jacket is too long. He wears about a 40L, athletic fit. We are looking for plain black and have a definite budget. Looking for sales since we only have about 150 dollars. Does anyone know if there is a specific brand that tends to have a shorter torso section of the jacket OR if that is something a tailor could fix? How expensive would it be to have the main body part of the jacket shortened?

sarconi asked:

Hi all
Last week I bought a new suit under the impression that it was pure wool, just to make sure I returned the day afterwards and asked the manager who sold it to me, he said that it was pure wool when I asked to try it on again he said it was already with the tailor, seemed a bit strange that alterations would have started so soon but anyway I waited and went back in to pick it up today, the manager was off and I was dealing with another salesman who said the suit was not pure wool, he was perfectly honest and seemed to agree that the manager was a bit of a con artist so I said I’d come back when the manager is in. My question is what rights do I have legally in this scenario. He lied to me but I have no way of proving that, am I entitled to a full refund becase I’m not happy with the suit? the main problem I see is that the suit is fitted. That’s why I went back a day later to check so no alterations could have been done bu the manager said all was well. Thanks for any advice
Im in scotland, unsure if laws differ, also I know the suit is a blend because I was shown the inside label, I was originaly told I was buying a pure wool suit. thanks again
