What color tie would go with a black suit/white shirt?

Its not plain black, it has a pattern on i it. Would a blue tie work? I have I have never owned a black suit before and am afraid people will think I’m on my way to a funeral, about to park their car or bring them a margarita. What would work best in a business setting? Blue? Green? Red seems a little halloweenish but maybe that would work…

    i wouldnt do a pattern, but a solid tie would work. with black and white? i like a light blue not a dark blue or a baby blue in between would work.
