What is the appropriate amount of clothing for a woman to wear?
Some cultures believe that women should cover themselves from head to toe, not even showing their faces. While others have them wearing next to nothing. Is a business suit better? How about an apron? At what point is it sexist? At what point is it exploitation?

However much they feel is necessary. I don’t feel it’s my place nor anyone else’s to arbitrarily decide how much clothes is enough. Daniel
Covers boobs, butt, lower vagina, upper part of legs. Yup and thats it. It\’s Kandy with a K BlTCH
Knee-length Dress or blouse & skirt is good enough. And a dress slip should be worn underneath. loverlover
I hate how our culture is soo obsessed w/ women who are half-naked.
Yes, I know she’s not that good looking. But just put a short (like you can see belly button short), tight shirt on her, and that is how the average woman in America is expected to dress, in order to look sexy.
Who said you couldn’t look good w/ clothes on? Sure it’s every mans dream to see hot girls w/ little on, on a hot day, etc. But everyday is more of a nuisance than pleasure.
I think something like this:
is more appropriate. yes, she has a short skirt, but at least she has mainly everything covered unlike girl in first pic. Ed the Sophomore
Not positive but I think the head to toe covering is in part to deflect the desire of men. I think in some of these countries adultery means the hubby has the legal option to have her put to death. And who knows what the definition of adultery is, to that end?
Anyway, sexist, exploitation, I think all the countries are in an uproar over other issues. Let the garb go. Dove
It depends on the situation. But, in my opinion, a decent and respectable woman wears nothing shorter than slightly above the knee when it comes to dresses or skirts, and her shirt or blouse doesn’t go so far down her cleavage that it hangs out. Of course this is any type of public dress; work, social, etc. At home, she should be free to wear what she wants. I support women being equal, but if a man went out wearing booty shorts and a crop top, no one would respect him – why should a woman be allowed to dress that way if it isn’t acceptable for a man to show the same amount of skin? Respectable men are conservatively covered, and so should be a woman.
It is outside exploitation when someone ‘makes’ a woman wear provocative clothing…when she does it herself, it’s just sad she has to show everything she has because she has nothing but her body to attract people to her. Aprons are best when you’re making something that can get messy. Other than that, you don’t need them. If you don’t cook or bake, you don’t need an apron at all. Magnolia
Sexism is another form of discrimination and prejudice. While cultures have been allowed to define what their heritage dictates, another type of labeling based of what is considered “sexist” or “sexism” has developed. It is no longer just words and put downs, but actual cases of women being mistreated by their employers or co-workers. Many want to dictate how they want their employer to dress from the bank to the bunny farm. The real thing that spurns this on is that many men have chosen the half clothed woman over the smartly dressed woman thinking that she (looks more exciting) agrees with the exploitation of her own body. She may not even realize it when it’s happening like Playboy Bunnies, but I believe she will when she looks back on that part of her life. I don’t know if the man will look back and see is part in the exploitation to see role he played. hynangeleyes
