I’m going into the business world in Syracuse pretty soon so I’m almost always going to be wearing suits and tie. I’m not really experience with formal attire since I’m a recent college graduate. So in cold weather, what should I wear with a formal suit? Trench coat, pea coat, over coat?

A pea coat would be more modern, but I find that a well fitted trench coat makes everthing look simply elegant. Just make sure to find one in a color like black or, better yet, charcoal gray (I find that it looks a little less scary) and make sure that it goes down to a little below your knees and you aren’t swimming in it. iluvmyguitar19

Get yourself a dark colored overcoat. The overcoat should be made of wool in a herringbone or worsted wool pattern and should extend at or up to 2 inches below your knees and be either dark blue, dark/charcoal grey or black. Do not go with camel hair (tan). Look at any wool coat by Hart Shaffner Marx, you cannot go wrong. Garys1266

Overcoat. Only thing you can wear when in a suit. Don’t wear short coats, like pea coats. Trench coats are for guys who have jobs like cop or something, where they have to wear a suit but are not in business…. sonyack
