business suit
ticket2ride asked:

I have a BA Social Science, run my own business for 4 years (Art world), CSO in a bank for 3 years while studying, Supervisor in a small gift shop, all other jobs short term, menial.
I don’t want to do teaching/social work and think that banking pay is too low. I work very hard and want to progress quickly: start at about £30K and work my way up as fast as possible.
All suggestions gratefully received, thanks :-)
ps I’m 30 years old, in case that makes any difference…

why do you have to give up your business -can you move it or at least sell it and get something back for the 4 yrs of work? Doctor Deth

If you already own your own business, are you really ready to trade that in for a job where you will be working to make money for someone else? Take your business with you, or, if that is impossibe, start a new one. There are a lot of options out there. If you’re tired or the art business, try something else, because the skills you have gained running your own business will traslate no matter what business you start next.

Maybe an Internet business would be good for you. You can take it with you anywhere that has Internet access. Look around, there are so many out there that one is bound to be a good fit for you. My mom started an Internet business a couple years ago, and she made six figures in her first year. Take a look.

If that’s not for you, don’t give up there. Find something that fits what you need. In the end, working for yourself will be far more rewarding than getting another job. Alex
