What major would suit me best for the career path I want to take?

I want to start up my own business. It’s going to be a clothing brand like volcom or roxy. There are so many different business majors that I’m not too sure which is that right choice?

    I would probably say Marketing or something of the like. If you’re going to start up your own brand, then you’re going to need to know how to market your brand in order to gain interest, start stores, and get your line moving. A marketing degree will also help you in furthering your line’s image once it gets initial recognition. Caitlin P

    It looks like you’re excited about the brand itself. You know, it’s unique style and look. That’s exactly what you’d learn in marketing. You’ll learn all about making your product stand out and emphasizing why it is better than the rest. How to actually make it better than the rest will be covered as well haha. You’ll also learn how to take criticism and improve the product’s flaws after people offer their comments. Economics, Accounting, Finance, and Management majors are usually geared towards working for a larger firm or corporation, so definitely go with Marketing. A lot of schools offer classes like “Small Business Management.” That would be a great elective to take.

    At my school, you can major in marketing and receive a certificate in entrepreneurship from the management department. This kind of thing would be great for you! Ask your school if they have something like it. cbarclay15
