I am going to opening night concert at Alice Tully Hall in Manhattan. Does anyone know if a business suit would be ok to wear? I am hoping I would not have to wear black tie attire? Anyone know?

Thank you in advance for everyone responding.

generally a nice suit and tie will be fine for an occasion like this. But to be safe it would be a good idea to ask someone who is either attending with you or who has attended a similar performance. If you don’t have access to someone like this. Go with you nicest suit and tie. Jenni

If it’s not a gala event, then a suit is just fine. The opening night of the opera usually entails more formality. Ballet and symphony is usually not as high brow (attitudewise). Inundated in SF
