2c1villan asked:

1) Is your longsleeve shirt allowed to extend past your suit coat? If so, by how much.
2) Are your pants allowed to be cuffed at the bottom?
3) How are you supposed to tie your tie? I know there’s about four ways.
4) Can you/Do you leave the last button unbuttoned on your suit coat?
5) Would wearing a short-sleeve when it’s hot outside look weird? (A lot of people still wear long-sleeve)

Your long sleeved shirt should be tucked in and not allowed to extend beyone the suit coat.

    Avoid cuffed pants.

Use a double Windsor knot to tie your tie. Look for instructions on this method on the Internet and practice.

You can merely button the top button, then when you sit down be sure to undo the button as you are seated.

DON’T wear a short sleeved shirt with a suit.

I wish you a successful conclusion of your business in D.C. Jeanne the Genius

Only blue-collar people wear short sleeved shirts with a tie in summer. Very much not done. It IS OK to wear a long sleeved shirt and roll up the sleeves when not wearing a jacket. I buy shirts for summer with a very loose cuff so that it can be rolled up quite high. Most men roll to just below the elbow, but I like to do it right above the elbow. Devlin_DC
