    I agree with 2 others before me. A thrift store & Ross are good ideas. Sears has good suits…try for when they are on sale plus offer the coupon off discounts. JC Penney’s. Other department stores as well as consignment shops. trinirhia

    I don’t have my NYC guide book with me but I heard there are some thrift shops near the Upper East Side that sell good clothes on consignment from rich women who want to get rid of their no-longer-in-season clothes but who don’t want to just donate them to charity since selling the clothes increases their monthly clothing allowance from hubby. You can probably check your bargain hunting books for NYC. You can find them in bookstores or used bookstores Stray Kittycat

    If you’re looking for a suit for a one-time deal I’d recommend Sears. The prices there for suits are more reasonable than larger department stores. If you need a suit to wear often, I’d say go with a large department store. As far as buying women’s suits, in my experience you get what you pay for. fido
