J.S asked:

i am into business but no accounting or finance. so that leaves with marketing or advertising or e-commerce for me. i love meeting new people and tlaking to them. but when in comes to presentations i dont mind doing them but i get really nervous in the beginning and my nervousness goes away while i am presenting. i also want to get into a field where i can earn the most money because i am willing to get up and work for my money. which field betwween advertising or marketing or e-commerce would suit me the best? i also want to work in a exciting/famous company.

if you wanna work for an exciting or famous company…
    maybe advertising would suit best…
you get to interact with people….in and out of company
and you need not so much in the way for high finance
just good at maths / calculator and sharp mind,
you would need to present !
be it one on one to a client or a larger group
whether its agency or news media
    but take heart !
there aint anybody out there that doesnt have the jitters at the thought of public speaking
i have seen MDs and Chairmen soothing their nerves with alcohol to stave off the stage fright and fear of performance !
pay is good as well……better in agency…..but more likelihood of losing your job, as Accounts come and go !

PR/ or marketing is more research oriented before the big so called ‘ sell ‘……lots of preparation before the big presentation to win/ hold a client or promote their product/ service

e-commerce- well ……very competitive and frankly a bit boring.

if you wanna meet and greet……influence…..acheive…..
    present…….to big clients……………advertising is the one !
    maybe start in regional press
cos its tough to get straight into agency
but there’s not much to choose between major nationals ( media ) and agencies at a high level. andy m
