Women (21 and older) if you saw a relatively young guy in a business suit would you think he’s a snob?

Jan asked:

My parents run a business in downtown los angeles and I usually would help them out when I was not busy with school. Now that Ive finished school I have now assumed a more full time position at their company and my parents want me to dress more formally since they have given me business cards with my name and job title on them ‘deputy administrator’ (which is pretty much like assistant manager) and I am now on the company payroll and am now being payed like everyone else (i receive a company check every 2 weeks).

Today i dressed myself with these items: light blue long sleeved shirt, dark blue neck tie, belt, gray business casual pants, and black business casual shoes. Now my dad is insisting I also wear a suit coat to work everyday but I honestly just feel like a snob if I wear the suit coat on top of what im already wearing, especially for a kind of young person (im 23) like myself…

So what do women think if they see a young guy like me in a suit? would you think I’m a snob or something?

I would think he has a good job in an office or something. I wouldn’t think he’s a snob or anything just because of the way he dresses. Men look so good when they are dressed up! Jen Bee

No, I think your dad is right. If I saw a guy you’re age in a suit, I’d be impressed and think that you looked really nice and put-together. Not snobby at all. Of course, you can take the jacket off for a more laid-back look when you’re on lunch break or doing something after work.

Also, the other thing is, your dad is your boss. Yeah, he’s your dad, but you have to start thinking in terms of future employment. If a boss asks you to wear a jacket, you have to do it. tea&cake
