it is too much like for a funeral, all you need to change is the color of the dress shirt and everything will be okay. you don’t need to change the tie. mochi

i would go with a different dress shirt. A colored one maybe a burgundy or deep red color, maybe a deep blue give yourself a little color. NO patterns or anything. You may want to use a tie that can tie in the color of shirt with the black suit (tie can be a pattern just not to much of one, you don’t want the wow to be meant in a bad way, lol). But, you don ‘t really need to change the tie. geminigirl2020

No – It’s not appropriate. Substitute the black shirt for white, a color, a stripe & match your tie to the shirt AND to the suit. I’ve noticed a lot of news anchors on TV are wearing solid ties with solid shirts — not the same color but blending. msnoose

Black or white tie with that outfit looks contrived (and/or mafia), try a color; bright or subdued. Old Mister Happy

No its just too much of one shade. Black looks great its sharp smart and stylish but a black shirt and tie is like blackness overkill:) best wear a medium to light grey shirt as its in the same tonal range as black but breaks up the one shade. And a red skinny tie that is so cool franz ferdinand – if you have pale skin and dark hair even better:) Beautifulfilmnoirjas
